Knights of Columbus

The Knights of Columbus is a Catholic fraternal organization founded in 1882 by Father Michael J. McGivney in New Haven, Connecticut.  With over two million members world wide, The Knights of Columbus is one of the largest Catholic fraternal organizations in the world.

The organization is dedicated to the principles of charity, unity, fraternity, and patriotism, and it offers its members opportunities to serve their communities, their Church, and their country.  They provide various services, including life insurance, retirement planning, and other financial services, as well as charitable and social programs.

The Knights of Columbus of St Theresa of Avila sponsor a Blood drive about every two months (based on the Red Cross schedule).  They man the food pantry the second and fourth Thursday of each month (except on holidays).  They hold a Tootsie Roll Drive to help the mentally handicapped and sponsor a coat drive in the fall for people in our area.  The Knights of Columbus also do the majority of the required maintenance on the parish grounds and buildings and set up tables and chairs for church meetings and activities.  Contact person David Steele - 618 322 5560.
